Day 165 ish:
After urging Caleb's doctors to petition the FDA, IRB, SCH and the company MicroBiome, he has been approved for an FMT. Essentially we are transplanting the MicroBiome from someone else's gut to his in an 11th hour effort to turn his condition around. Potentially, by tomorrow he will be off all antibiotics and the procedure could be done as soon as Monday. This treatment has proven to be a game changer for some patients with similar conditions. For Caleb this is a hail Mary attempt. Please please pray that Caleb remains infection free and that his gut health is restored.
