I had stage 3 colon cancer when I was 26. Was given 6 months to live. I had intestinal resectioning surgery, 9.5 rounds of chemo & beat it. A year later, I found out it had spread to my abdominal lining (peritoneal carcinomatosis) & was told there's no cure out there for me, I have maybe 1 good year left. Well, by some miracle, we found a surgeon that was willing to remove the tumors for me. I never thought the recovery would be so hard, or take so long (so far, surgery was almost 4mths ago & still the abdominal incisions haven't healed & are open). Neither did the surgeon or doctors. So many days I want to just give up, b/c after the wound heals, I still have 8 rounds of chemo to try & make it through. I really hope I can, & I can look back @ cancer & laugh @ it's attempts to take my life from me. I need strength to get through this. Because right now, I'm losing hope & so close to giving in :'(
