I was laid off July 2 and have been looking for another job. I am just beginning to take classes this month toward my Bachelor's degree, as well. However, I have been an Executive Assistant for years and the jobs that I am finding at my level are all requiring that the applicants have their degree already. I found a stay-at-home job in marketing, which is what I am getting my degree in, but it is not starting out quickly at all. I do get unemployment, but I am hoping to get the business up and running and making some money before unemployment runs out. Looking at the job market, I believe this is my best option. My husband wants me to go back to work in an office, though. I want to leave that choice in God's hands, as He knows what is best and He has a plan for me. Please pray that He will make that direction clear to both me and my husband soon and that if it is my home business, that He blesses it and it gets going successfully soon.

We just found out that my mother-in-law, who is 85 years old, has a cancerous tumor in her colon. Her appointment with the surgeon is next week. Please pray with us that all of the cancer is fully contained in the tumor and has not spread. She is in decent health, but the thought of chemo and radiation for an 85-year-old is a lot to bear. We are praying that they can remove all of the cancer and that she won't have to go through the chemo and radiation that she would have to undergo if it has spread. We do thank God, though, that we live in Houston, Texas, where M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is located and IF she needs to go through further treatment, not only do we not have to travel, but she has a daughter and grandson that both work there, as well. Please pray with us that her cancer has not spread beyond the tumor.

Please pray for me and for my husband. My husband is such a good, God-loving, God-fearing man, but he ran out of meds for his depression and has turned back to drugs to self-medicate. I cannot go down this road with him again. I have to remain on God's path, but I also need to love my husband back to getting back on his meds and turning away from the drugs again. It's only been a couple of days, after 4 months sober, and Satan is working HARD to get him back on the wrong path. Please pray that God helps my husband turn back the right direction and that He gives me the strength, courage and direction to handle things on my end the way that He would have me to. My health is bad and it only gets worse when my husband does this. I just want us back on God's path, where we were blooming, and not on Satan's road to destruction.

Please pray for Andreas Gonzales and Kenneth Stuart. They are in pain and depressed and using drugs and alcohol to self-medicate. Please pray that their families will be understanding, supporting and forgiving and that God leads them to the RIGHT path to get the help that they need instead of using these harmful substances to ease their pain and help their depression. Please pray for their families, as well, as it is a very difficult position to be in. It is easier to be angry than understanding and punitive instead of supportive. The pain of depression and the issues that surround it steal peace and joy not only from the sufferer, but for all those that love that person. We, the family members, need supportive prayers for the Lord to help and guide us through this, as well. God bless and thank you in advance.
