Please pray for Riley, Hey everyone, I realize that last week I left off with the updates of us being sent back to Boston and in the ER; then I kind of left people hanging and haven´t written since. I have had a VERY rough few days, and have not been able to really bring myself to discuss it. Well, here it is now.. Turns out Riley does NOT have pneumonia. He may possibily have an infection from the port-a-cath t...hey put in last week. He is on antibiotics to be on the safe side while the labs come back. But through a routine MRI while here for the vomiting and fever, they un-expectedly found that his tumor had grown a lot in one week. They did not foresee it growing this rapidly. Because of this, the swelling to the brain has left no where for the fluid to flow through the ventricles. This is potentially very dangerous. He may have to get another surgery to permanently drain out the fluid (a shunt.) Right now, they are monitering him closely, and are controlling the swelling with steriods in hopes to minimize it enough / and also plan on starting radiation by Tuesday ( 2 days earlier than planned) to keep all of this under control. Please, please PLEASE I can not stress enough how much Riley needs your love and prayers right now. He is doing a lot better in terms of how he is feeling today, however - I am a mother who is PETRIFIED! I am not going to rest until I am positive my son is safe and cured. Please send us loads and loads of happy thoughts. Thank you
