God of justice and mercy,
We lift up the men and women of the various State National Guard unit —those who stand ready in times of chaos, called to serve both state and nation, often without warning and sometimes without clarity.

Grant them discernment when orders come swiftly and the consequences linger long. Let no command strip them of their humanity, nor silence the voice within that knows right from wrong,.
For those who speak truth in the face of power—bring courage.
May their service be guided not only by law, but by wisdom.

May their loyalty never demand the sacrifice of integrity. And may we, as a nation, never ask of them what we would not bear ourselves.
