I am 70 years old, and have been taking mirtazapine, and lorazepam for insomnia. My doctor abruptly took me of the lorazepam on my last visit, and put me on something entirely different that doesn't work. She said that medicare no longer authorizes the use of lorazepam for people over 65. Since this visit, on September 13th, I have not been able to sleep more that two hours, usually between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m. I had my blood pressure taken a few days ago, and it is high. I have never had high blood pressure. Please pray that this withdrawal will not last, and my life will go back to normal. I'm so tired, and scared. Thank you.
