I hope this message finds someone who will pray to give me the
Strength to quit smoking. I resently lost my service dog who was my strength. I am at my wit's end. I try walking and praying, but to stop smoking is so hard. Please send prayers my way.

I'm trying to quit as well and it is so hard! Sending prayers 🙏❤️
My son said something to me years ago that helped me when I would say that I was trying to quit. He said, "What do you mean "trying?" He said, "You don't TRY--you just NOT have a cigarette! But I do realize it's not easy. Another thing that helped me was telling myself (whenever I had the urge) "I'm not a smoker." It may sound crazy--but it helped! Then I would get busy doing something. An urge lasts 5 minutes on average, so if you keep busy for 5-6 minutes, it will pass. Also, don't think in terms of "forever." All it takes is 28 days (some round it to 30) to overcome any habit. We can do anything for 28 days. It's even OK to tell yourself that you can always start again in 29 days--but you won't have the strong urge anymore, so if a small urge comes, it's now easy to remind yourself that "I'm not a smoker" and get up and do something for 5 minutes. Also, imagine that you're somewhere where you cannot smoke--the hospital, at work, etc. Usually we do deep breathing, or other relaxation techniques until the urge passes. Do the same at home. Set a target day--like October 1st and just remind yourself that you only have to do it for one month. Good luck to you and @Joan Boehler.
Thank you so much for your prayers. Yes, it is hard but I keep trying every day is a different day and I try harder.
